Dr. Kelli Trent grew up in Morehead, KY. She received a bachelor’s degree in Biology at Morehead State University in 2006, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She attended medical school at the University of Kentucky, graduating with High Distinction in 2010. She completed her residency in combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Kentucky in 2014, where she was a Chief Resident for Internal Medicine and Pediatrics from 2013-2014. She was selected to complete an additional Chief Resident year for the Department of Pediatrics post-graduation from 2014-2015. She became double boarded in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, allowing her to care for patients in two specialties both children in pediatrics and adults in internal medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Physicians, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Kelli Trent enjoys seeing patients of all ages, but she has a special interest in complex care, preventative care, pediatrics, and women’s health. She enjoys taking care of all patients from newborns to the elderly. Dr. Trent has been practicing both internal medicine and pediatrics in Lexington, KY from 2010-2022. She is very excited to be able to return home to provide care for patients in the area, where she can continue to care for entire families and develop long term relationships with her patients, as well as give back to an area which has given so much to her. She counts it a blessing to care for each and every patient that she sees. Dr. Trent feels that it is an honor and privilege to be part of the joyous times of her patient’s lives but also to share with them in the most delicate of times. She feels while knowledge is important, being a great physician means also bringing humility, compassion and kindness to each patient that she treats.

In her spare time, she enjoys being active in her church, cooking, traveling, making floral arrangements, playing the piano, all things Disney, and spending time with family and friends.
