For nearly 40 years, the PrimaryPlus mission has been built on a foundation of Quality, Advanced, Affordable Healthcare. This mission is centered in the amazing work of our TEAM creating a strong medical home for our patients and communities. We look forward to carrying the same values into our upcoming family medicine residency program. PrimaryPlus' first residency class will be coming soon.
PrimaryPlus is a Federally Qualified Health Center with eleven primary care locations throughout Kentucky and Ohio most of which follow along the beautiful Ohio River. It is part of our model to CONNECT the many pieces of healthcare creating a familiar, friendly and convenient environment for our patients while also enriching internal referrals and partnerships among our medical team. Our service ranges include care for the entire family from children to adults offering primary care, OB/GYN, pediatrics, dental, on-site radiology (including x-ray, ultrasound and CT Scan), lab services, mental health (including psychiatry and counseling), urology, dermatology and on-site pharmacies.
The PrimaryPlus Residency Program will be one of only a few Federally Qualified Health Center models in the United States. The program will be a 4-4-4 model. Our experienced, knowledgeable medical team are excited to prepare residents to provide a full-spectrum of care. PrimaryPlus also has strong partnership with University of Kentucky, Cincinnati Children's and our regional hospitals to allow for added elective specialties.
OUR RESIDENCY MISSION
To train and form future generations of competent and compassionate family physicians in a concerted effort to close gaps in access to care in the region and communities we serve.
To provide structured, effective, and educational experiences that foster measurable achievements and family medicine education outcomes to form world-class family medicine physician leaders. We will partner with other institutions, such as Meadowview Regional Medical Center and the University of Kentucky, to further provide family medicine resident education and fulfill requirements outlined by the ACGME. Lewis County Primary Care Center Family Medicine Residency will provide guidance and supervision of residents to facilitate their professional, ethical, and personal development and further ensure that the patient care provided by residents is compassionate, informed, evidence-based, safe and appropriate.
OUR RESIDENCY VISION
Provide the space and resources in which medical school matriculants are becoming competent and compassionate physicians that are competitive in all spheres of the family medicine world. We envision that the product of our program will not only be competent and compassionate physicians, but leaders in the workforce and the communities in which they serve.
