Kristen N. Murphy, DO joined the PrimaryPlus team June of 2019 but has been practicing medicine since 2014. She grew up in the area, graduating from Boyd County High School in 2006. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Morehead State University and then continued her quest to become a physician by attending Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of Pikeville. She remained in the region for her residency program working with St. Claire Regional Medical Center. Dr. Murphy is board certified in family medicine and Osteopathic Manipulation Therapy.
Dr. Kristen Murphy understands that patients are complex being composed of mind, body and spirit. Sometimes, the care they need is physical, chemical, spiritual or something else altogether. Her approach to medicine is to find ways to help the patient through what they are going through utilizing her range of skills to provide the best care.
Dr. Kristen Murphy is married to, the above mentioned, Dr. Logan Murphy and they have a daughter and a cat. Dr. Kristen Murphy is skillfully talented in music…signing, playing piano, ukulele, trumpet and serves on the worship team at their church. She also shares a love for photography with her husband. Most of all she loves taking care of and loving on her family.
Fun Fact about the Murphy’s: During both Dr. Logan Murphy and Dr. Kristen Murphy’s medical school rotations, PrimaryPlus was honored to have them throughout several of our office locations including our PrimaryPlus-OB/GYN office headquartered in Maysville, KY and at PrimaryPlus-Tollesboro (KY) working with the family practice team. PrimaryPlus loves seeing this “full circle” experience…from hosting students to then having them become part of our medical family.
