Ramon Barcelona, M.D. is one of our Family Medicine physicians at our PrimaryPlus Vanceburg office. Dr. Barcelona has over 25 years of experience and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Kentucky Medical Association. He completed his Family Practice Residency at Brooklyn Hospital Center and got his Doctor of Medicine degree from DeLasalle University College of Medicine. In his spare time, Dr. Barcelona enjoys fishing, reading and traveling.
CHRISTINE C. MCKAIN, M.D. -FAMILY PRACITCE (BOARD CERTIFIED EMERGENCY MEDICINE)
Christine C. McKain joined our PrimaryPlus team in May 2014. Dr. McKain has been practicing medicine for over 23 years and is a member of FACEP (Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians), FAAEM (Fellow of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine) and is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). She obtained her degrees from the University Of Cincinnati College Of Medicine and a B.A. in biology from the University of Cincinnati. She always does what is best for her patients and works with them to accomplish their health goals. She believes that focusing on each patient as an individual is the best way to understand their circumstances in order to achieve those goals.
Most of Dr. McKain’s time outside of the office is devoted towards her daughter, but she also enjoys reading and considers herself a true “STAR WARS geek”.
KELLY G. MOSS, M.D. -FAMILY PRACTICE
Kelly G. Moss, M.D. is a 50 year veteran of Family Medicine and has been a staple in the Buffalo-Trace region all of his medical career. Not only does Dr. Moss bring a wealth of experience to the people of Lewis County, but he also has a connection with his patients that only comes from being so deeply embedded in the community. Dr. Moss received his B.A. from Berea College and his M.D. from the University of Kentucky. He believes in providing family care to improve his patients’ quality of life, increase their comfort and to counsel them on their care needs. Dr. Moss resides in Maysville.
GRANT STEVENSON, M. D. -FAMILY PRACTICE
Grant Stevenson, M.D. has been a practicing physician for over 35 years and joined our Vanceburg office in 1991. Dr. Stevenson graduated with his B.S. from Morehead State University in 1974 and obtained his M.D. at the University of Louisville in 1978. Dr. Stevenson and his wife have resided in South Shore, KY for over 30 years and in his spare time he enjoys woodworking, antiques, fishing and politics.
TERRI HAINLINE, MSN, APRN -FAMILY HEALTH NURSE PRACTITIONER
Terri Hainline, MSN-APRN, joined PrimaryPlus as a Nurse Practitioner in 2012 after moving back to her hometown of Vanceburg, KY. Terri practiced for many years in Louisville, KY and has now returned to Lewis County where she believes in treating our patients and their families with a holistic approach to medicine. Terri has been practicing medicine for 40 years and has strong ties to the Vanceburg community. She is a member of the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the University of Louisville Honor Society. Terri is married with a daughter and a grandson. She enjoys gardening and reading but her #1 hobby is spending time with her grandson.

Judy Johnson, APRN joined the PrimaryPlus family in late 2015 at our Vanceburg location. Her eastern Kentucky roots makes her very relatable to her patients. Judy graduated with her nurse practitioner license from Northern Kentucky University and prior to that was an RN within many other area healthcare systems and hospitals in the region . She truly believes in the PrimaryPlus mission of quality, advanced, affordable healthcare and is so happy to share her knowledge with the patients. Her compassion and love for her patients can be see through her cheerful SMILE and positive spirit!
Judy resides in Ashland, KY with her teenage son. She loves everything Kentucky including her Wildcats! She also loves to travel and is an avid sports fan!

Sherry Young, APRN has been actively involved in the field of healthcare since 1988 including over 17 years of work in the ER setting. In 2013, she earned her Masters in Nursing from Otterbein University. Sherry believes in a preventative and evidence based approach to medicine. She is a proud member of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) and also is a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN).
Sherry, her husband and her two boys reside in Lucasville, OH. She enjoys reading and hanging out with her family which includes her many 4 legged family members!

Amy Canary, PA-C has been part of the PrimaryPlus family of medical providers since the beginning of her medical career in 1996. She earned her Bachelor Degree from the University of Kentucky’s College of Health Science, Physician Assistant Studies Program. Amy is a proud member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Mark Fairchild, PA-C has been with PrimaryPlus since he first began practicing as a Physician Assistant in 1998. He has primarily serviced the patients of Vanceburg, KY, but has also practiced at our Flemingsburg clinic throughout his career. Mark earned his B.S. in Biology, his B.A. in Allied Health and is a member of KAPA and AAPA. He enjoys photography, beekeeping and raising fruits and nuts. Mark is married and has 1 son.

For over 30 years, Dr. Ron Mays has been bringing a smile to his patients’ faces with his quality dental care. In the spring of 2014, Dr. Mays joined our PrimaryPlus-Dental Center team in Vanceburg to carry on his tradition of quality, compassionate dentistry offering an expanded range of dental services for all ages.
Dr. Mays is a graduate of the College of Dentistry at the University of Kentucky. He is happily married to Mandy Mays, who is a retired counselor and is currently serving as a college professor. He is a proud father of a daughter, Blair, who is a pharmacist with PrimaryPlus. He and his family reside in Vanceburg, KY, where he enjoys gardening and collecting Native American artifacts.

Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, Gwen Webb has been with the PrimaryPlus Women’s Center in Vanceburg since 1988. Gwen has 30 years of medical experience and believes in a preventative approach to healthcare. She received her Associate RN from Shawnee State University in 1983 and obtained her Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate from Indiana University in 1991. In 2006, she received her BSN from Bellarmine University in KY. Gwen and her husband live in Jackson, OH and have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding and exercising.

Patti Tingue-Poczatek, M.D. is the guiding force at our Tollesboro PrimaryPlus office since 2002. Dr. Tingue-Poczatek encourages her patients to take a holistic approach to their health. Erin Himes, PA-C, MPAS, works hand in hand with our Tollesboro physician, Dr. Patti Poczatek. Erin began her career with PrimaryPlus in 2006 and believes that diet, exercise and mental health are important for a patient’s overall well-being. Erin’s partnership with Dr. Poczatek brings comprehensive care to PrimaryPlus’ patients. This includes well-care visits, acute and chronic disease management and educational support. Betsy Bailey, M.D. practices in our Flemingsburg, KY clinic. A Family Practice physician since 2004, Dr. Bailey practices evidence based medicine with an emphasis on preventative care. She completed her internship and residency at Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in Edegwood, KY and is Board Certified in Family Medicine. Shelly Allison, APRN, CDE has lived in the Buffalo Trace region her entire life. Shelly has served this community as a RN and Certified Diabetes Educator for many years prior to deciding to continue her education and become a nurse practitioner. In December of 2015, she graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University and in January 2016 joined our PrimaryPlus family! Shelly Allison offers office hours at both our Flemingsburg and Maysville locations.

JAMES RYAN, APRN -FAMILY HEALTH NURSE PRACTITIONER
In January 2011, PrimaryPlus was thrilled to welcome James Ryan, APRN to their medical team. James practices full-time as a Family Health Nurse Practitioner at PrimaryPlus-South Shore providing care to all ages. He believes in a preventative and holistic approach to medicine which he attributes to his experience and medical education at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) in Richmond, KY. James graduated as a Registered Nurse in 2005 and while working as a nurse, proceeded to earn his Masters in Nursing (nurse practitioner certification) from EKU. James and his wife have one son and live in South Portsmouth, KY. Conveniently living near the Ohio River, fishing has become one of James’ favorite hobbies, along with spending time with family.

Jim Yount, MPA-C joined our South Shore office in early 2012. Although he is new to PrimaryPlus, he has been involved within the healthcare industry for over 32 years and has practiced as a Physician Assistant since 1996. Throughout his years of experience, Jim has provided a proactive and preventative approach to medicine. Jim received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Franklin University (OH). He continued his education and earned a Physician Assistant Studies degree from Kettering College of Medical Arts (OH) and then a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2001. He is a proud member of the Ohio Association of Physician Assistants (OAPA) and the Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).
Both Jim and his wife are active in the medical field; she serves as both a flight nurse and as an ER nurse. Although medicine is his interest first and foremost, he also enjoys hunting and skiing in his spare time.

For over 25 years, Cathy Tackett has dedicated herself to caring for others. She began her career as an EMT, continued her education becoming an LPN and later a Registered Nurse (RN-BSN). Her drive, knowledge and enthusiasm for healthcare then carried her to graduate from Marshall University with her Masters in Nursing as a Family Health Nurse Practitioner. Cathy is Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Her approach to healthcare is holistic with a focus on health promotion and disease prevention. Cathy resides in Lucasville, OH with her husband and daughter. In her free time she loves traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Donald R. Wilson, M.D. F.A.C.O.G.has been serving women’s health needs in Maysville, KY since 1980. Dr. Wilson joined PrimaryPlus’ OB/GYN practice in 2005 with Dr’s David Doty & Laura Shower and in late 2013 was named the Medical Director of the non-profit organization. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Kentucky in 1976 and completed his residency at Miami Valley Hospital/Wright State University in 1980. Dr. Wilson is a proud member of the American College/Congress of Obstetrics & Gynecology (Fellow), the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology (Diplomate), the American Medical Association, the Kentucky Medical Association, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the First Christian Church. His approach to healthcare is based on educating his patients because he believes, “an educated patient is a healthier patient.” Dr. Wilson is the recipient of the Community Preceptor Award, Class of 2012 University of Kentucky College of Medicine and the 2009 Preceptor of the Year Award, Northeast Kentucky Area Health Education Center. He lives in Maysville and enjoys exercising, golf and choir/chorale. Dr. Wilson and his wife reside in Maysville and have two children.
SAMANTHA M. OLZESKI, D.O. -OB/GYN PHYSICIAN
Samantha M. Olzeski, D.O. joined PrimaryPlus-OB/GYN in July 2012 and is no stranger to our OB/GYN practice. During her 3rd year of medical school, Dr. Olzeski completed her OB rotation under the supervision of veteran PrimaryPlus-OB/GYN physician, Dr. David Doty. Dr. Olzeski is a 2008 graduate of the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine at Pikeville University and completed her residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio in 2012. She has both her B.A. in English from The Ohio State University, her B.S. in Biology from Jacksonville University and is a member of ACOOG, ACOG, AOA and KOMA. Dr. Olzeski lists minimally invasive surgery, female incontinence, menopause and routine and complicated obstetrics as her professional interests. She believes that providing her patients with the most current information and practical options will help them make the best healthcare decisions for both themselves and their families. In her free time, Dr. Olzeski spends time with her husband, stepdaughter and rambunctious toddler. She is a proud supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes, enjoys traveling with family, reading and participating in community service activities.

In January of 2016, Dr. Sarah Gerlach joined the PrimaryPlus-OB/GYN family. Dr. Gerlach was very familiar with the PrimaryPlus organization doing a rotation during her final year of residency with our team. Dr. Gerlach is a graduate of Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her residency was completed at OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital in Athens, OH. Dr. Gerlach believes in the women that she cares for–as a mother and a female, she can relate to them on many levels.

Certified Nurse Midwife Betsy Cox joined PrimaryPlus-OB/GYN in March, 2012. Betsy is a graduate of Georgetown University and recently relocated back to Kentucky from Virginia. She brings with her 16 years of Midwifery expertise and believes in encouraging her patients to participate in their healthcare decisions by choosing healthful habits. Betsy lives in Maysville and has 2 children. She enjoys reading, gardening, running and walking.

Becky Hogge (CNM, MSN) has the title of being PrimaryPlus’ first Certified Nurse Midwife. Since joining PrimaryPlus in 2010, Becky has been a shining example of the type of quality care CNM’s can bring to their patients. Becky has 30 years of experience as a Nurse and over 13 years experience as a CNM. She earned her B.S. from Morehead State University, her M.S. from Case Western Reserve University and her CNM certification from Frontier Nursing University. Becky belongs to both the ACNM & KCNPNM and practices a Family Centered approach when it comes to healthcare. Becky and her family reside in Morehead.
SYLVIA KERR, CNM -CERTIFIED NURSE MIDWIFE
Certified Nurse Midwife, Sylvia Kerr, joined PrimaryPlus in 2011. An RN for 38 years and a Nurse Midwife for 28 years, Sylvia brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our Maysville OB/GYN practice. She is a member of several organizations that include the American College of Nurse Midwives, the AWOHNN, the KY Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and Lactation Associates. Sylvia is also a lactation counselor. She practices holistic, family-centered care with a strong emphasis on health education and empowerment of patients and families. Sylvia lives in Lexington, KY and has three grown children. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and gardening.

Melissa A. Redmond, APRN is a Nurse Practitioner for PrimaryPlus-OB/GYN in Maysville. Melissa has been a Registered Nurse since 1993 and became a Nurse Practitioner in 2003. She earned her B.S. in Nursing from Eastern Kentucky University and her M.S. in Nursing from Northern Kentucky University. Melissa believes in focusing on prevention to lessen illness and disease when treating her patients. She is a member of the AANP & is ANCC certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Melissa enjoys fitness training and photography. She and her husband Jeff live in Maysville with their two children.

Dana Tucker APRN, WHNP-BC, joined PrimaryPlus in 2010. Treating our women’s health patients in both Bracken County and Maysville, Dana approaches medicine from a holistic perspective. She earned her BSN from Northern Kentucky University and her MSN from the University of Cincinnati. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the KY Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. Dana and her husband Mark have three children and live in Brooksville, KY. She enjoys traveling, reading, Zumba and activities with her children.

Katie Young, APRN has been treating our women’s health patients at our Maysville OB/GYN office since 2008. Prior to joining PrimaryPlus, Katie was a Registered Nurse with Meadowview Regional Medical Center from 2004-2008. She graduated as an RN from Morehead State University and obtained her degree as a Nurse Practitioner from Northern Kentucky University. Katie is a proud member of the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners & Nurse Midwives (KCNPNM), as well as the ANCC. She and her husband Adam have three children.

MUNA VONDERHEIDE, APRN- FAMILY HEALTH & WOMEN’S HEALTH
Muna Vonderheide, MSN, APRN joined the PrimaryPlus family in September of 2014 with the opening of their Ashland location. Muna graduated with her Registered Nursing degree from Ashland Community and Technical College and later continued her education at Frontier Nursing University where she received her Master’s in Nursing as both a Women’s Health and Family Health Nurse Practitioner. She is board certified in Women’s Health by the NCC and board certified in family practice by the AANP. Muna’s approach to healthcare is holistic believing that the mind and body are connected. It is her goal to work with her patients to take a TEAM approach (provider and patient being the key players). Prevention is also a very important component in her healthcare model.
Muna is married and has two wonderful children (a boy and a girl). She loves spending time with her family and in her spare time loves reading. The PrimaryPlus-Ashland is a special collaboration between PrimaryPlus and the Ashland-Boyd County Health Department. Stacy Dobson is a life-long Boyd County resident who is proud to care for the families of the area she loves and knows so well. Stacy received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Morehead State University. She later decided to continue her education graduating with her Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Kentucky in 2009. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her interests in healthcare involve both family health and pediatrics meaning she can care for the ENTIRE FAMILY. Dr. Roediger is a proud partner of PrimaryPlus by way of the University of Kentucky where she serves as part of both the medical and teaching staff. She earned her medical degree from Creighton University, School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska and completed a residency with the University of Kentucky. Dr. Roediger has office hours every Monday at our PrimaryPlus-Ashland location.
