Health Care the way it was meant to be

"Primary Health Care...
the way it was meant to be"

TeleHealth

PrimaryPlus is proud to be a partner of the Kentucky TeleHealth Program.  Together, PrimaryPlus and TeleHealth have been able to implement the program into all PrimaryPlus sites, as well as, several Lewis County School System locations.

The Kentucky TeleHealth System connects rural medical centers to “big city services” through the use of video conferencing equipment.   PrimaryPlus’ sites are able to collaborate with specialist at the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville extending the list of services offered, plus helping patient’s safe time and money with less traveling to and from appointments.  Physicians can perform physical examinations through the system, using specialized cameras, electronic stethoscopes and other medical peripheral devices.  Some of the care options available through the system are dermatology, endocrinology, memory disorder, pediatric cardiology, child psychiatry, and more.

Kentucky TeleHealth also extends its services for conferencing, training programs, and workshops.  The program is also very community-minded.  For example in 2004 & 2005, all sites using Kentucky TeleHealth welcomed families with loved ones stationed in Iraq to participate in operation FREEDOM CALLS providing an opportunity to talk and see their distant families.  The video conferencing system provides many different avenues for use.  PrimaryPlus finds TeleHealth to be an effective technological advancement making healthcare more accessible for all.
