PrimaryPlus Welcomes New Collaboration with KDMC Cardiologist

(December 18, 2007)  PrimaryPlus is excited to continue their drive to bring “big city” services close to home.  The newest addition comes with the help of King’s Daughters Medical Center and Cumberland Cardiology.  The three have collaborated to bring interventional cardiologist, Chris Epling, D.O. to PrimaryPlus’ Vanceburg office.  Dr. Epling will begin seeing patients at PrimaryPlus-Vanceburg on Thursday, January 3rd and will maintain regular office hours at the Vanceburg location.

Dr. Chris Epling completed his medical degree at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Lewisburg, WV and his residency and internship at Frankford Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. He completed an invasive cardiology fellowship at Marshall University, Huntington, W.Va., and an interventional cardiology fellowship at Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, OH.  Today, Dr. Epling practices at the Heart and Vascular Center at King's Daughters Medical Center, in Ashland, KY, which was recently named as one of the 100 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals in the nation for the second year in a row by Thomson, a national healthcare information company. King's Daughters also was rated the #1 heart surgery program in Kentucky for the second year in a row by HealthGrades.

A cardiologist specializes in the health of the heart and blood vessels. As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Epling performs diagnostic cardiac catheterizations in order to determine the extent of artery blockage and also specializes in non-surgical techniques for opening clogged coronary arteries, such as balloon angioplasty and stenting.

The collaboration between PrimaryPlus, KDMC, Cumberland Cardiology and Dr. Epling, is one of many others that PrimaryPlus works hard to provide for their patients helping to reduce travel expenses, keep healthcare affordable, PLUS provide top notch care to Lewis and surrounding counties.  PrimaryPlus is a non-profit medial organization that provides a full range of medical services including family health, OB/GYN care, dental services, rehab/fitness, pharmacy services, and MORE with sites located in Vanceburg, Tollesboro, Flemingsburg, and Maysville.  For more information regarding PrimaryPlus, their services including cardiology care of Dr. Chris Epling, and/or to schedule an appointment please contact us at 606-796-3029 or www.primaryplus.net.
