PrimaryPlus Welcomes the Return of Dr. Ramon Barcelona (February 19, 2010) PrimaryPlus is excited to introduce the newest physician to join the PrimaryPlus family—Ramon Barcelona, M.D. To many this name may sound very familiar; Dr. Barcelona served as part of the PrimaryPlus family from 1996 to 2000. During his time here, he became a great friend of the community and embraced the spirit of the area, especially that of the people! His return to the area has brought new excitement from not only the PrimaryPlus staff, but his past patients. Dr. Barcelona is equally as excited to be back to this community that he has cherished for so many years. Thanks to Dr. Barcelona, PrimaryPlus’ Vanceburg office (located at 211 KY 59) will extend its hours. Dr. Barcelona will be seeing patients from 8 AM to 8 PM Monday through Wednesday and have morning hours on Thursday and as always PrimaryPlus WELCOMES NEW PATIENTS. For over 14 years, Dr. Barcelona has served as a family practice physician. He is a graduate of De La Salle University College of Medicine and from there went on to further his expertise in medicine by completing an internship with the Armed Forces of the Philippines. He then moved to Brooklyn, NY, to complete his medical residency at The Brooklyn Hospital. He is certified through the American Board of Family Medicine and serves as an active member for the American Academy of Family Practice and the American Medical Association. “Dr. Barcelona is a cherished part of PrimaryPlus’ humble history and we are so honored to have him back as we continue to grow our organization. His knowledge, charisma, and compassion for people stands out in his practice of medicine...he is not only a doctor to those he serves, he is a friend.” states Jerry Ugrin, CEO of PrimaryPlus. Dr. Ramon Barcelona will join the PrimaryPlus medical family in Vanceburg including Dr. Paul Duncan; Dr. Sarah Porter; Dr. Grant Stevenson; Dr. Ellen Kumler (Pediatrician); Amy Canary, PA-C; Darla Pickett, PA-C; and Mark Fairchild, PA-C. Also available on the Vanceburg campus is dental services with Dr. Shelia Arnett and women’s health with Gwen Webb, RNC-OGNP. As mentioned, the Vanceburg family health office will now have hours of Monday through Wednesday 8 AM to 8 PM, Thursdays from 8 AM to 7 PM, Fridays from 8:30 AM to 5 PM and every other Saturday from 8:30 to Noon (Saturday’s hours alternate between the Vanceburg & Tollesboro office). Other PrimaryPlus locations include Maysville, Flemingsburg, Bracken County and Tollesboro (606-798-3151) featuring Dr. Patti Poczatek and Erin Collins, PA-C.
