PrimaryPlus FUNDS Scholarship
for Local High School Students

(Maysville, KY) PrimaryPlus is proud to announce the availability of applications for the fifth annual PrimaryPlus--Mason County Scholarship.  PrimaryPlus will provide one $500 non-renewable scholarship to a class of 2010 graduate residing and attending a Mason County school.  The scholarship applications are available at the guidance counselors’ office of Mason County High School, St. Patrick’s High School as well as online at www.primaryplus.net (a link is available on the front page of the site).

Applicants will be required to submit a brief biography, transcripts of their high school grades/test scores, financial need information and provide letters of recommendation.  Seniors applying must also submit a 500 to 1,000 word essay outlining their professional goals in the medical field, the future contributions they would like to make in the community and how this scholarship would help them attain those goals.  The recipient of the 2010 PrimaryPlus scholarship will be announced before the end of the school year; last year’s winner was the very deserving Ashley Henderson of Mason County High School.  The deadline for application submission is May 7th, 2010.  PrimaryPlus offers similar scholarship programs to Lewis, Bracken and Fleming Counties, in hopes that students from these counties, with an interest in medicine will be able to pursue that interest and return home to provide top quality healthcare.

“The class of 2010 is a vital part of our community’s future and it is important to help them pursue their dreams, in hopes that they will return home to begin their careers.  PrimaryPlus feels that the scholarship will not only assist with the financial burden of college, but also help them to think about how they too can give back to their community,” states Jerry Ugrin, CEO of PrimaryPlus.

PrimaryPlus is dedicated to providing quality, advanced, affordable medical care for the entire family.  PrimaryPlus’ Maysville site is located at 927 Kenton Station Drive and includes OB/GYN, family health and pharmacy services.  Physicians for PrimaryPlus-OB/GYN (606-759-5331) include Dr. Donald Wilson, Dr. David Doty, Dr. Laura Shower, Dr. Steve Meese, Melissa Redmond, ARNP and Katie Young, ARNP.  PrimaryPlus-Family Health (606-759-0433) features Dr. Nancy Guttman, Dr. Tim Grosser, Dr. Anne Gillis, Dr. Ellen Kumler, Dr. Isabel Del Castillo, and Kim Keef, PA-C.  For further information on the scholarship or any of PrimaryPlus’ services, contact Tracy McGuire at 606-796-0183 or visit www.primaryplus.net.
