PrimaryPlus Welcomes Wade M. Rankin, DO to its Medical Family
(January 11, 2010) PrimaryPlus, a Federally Qualified Health Center, which is located at 1551 Augusta-Chatham Rd. in Augusta, KY, is happy to announce the newest addition to its medical family...Wade M. Rankin, DO. Dr. Rankin who was raised in Bracken County, will be joining the team of Steve Neus, MD; Harold Markesbery, MD; Nancy Guttman, MD and Denise Gore, APRN.
After graduating from Bracken County High School, Dr. Wade Rankin attended the University of Kentucky where he received his undergraduate degree in Biology. He then stayed close to his Kentucky roots and began his medical education at Pikeville, Kentucky’s Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine. Once graduating medical school, he continued his studies with an internship and family medicine residency at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. Dr. Rankin’s quest to make himself a well-rounded physician did not stop there...after completing his residency he decided to accept a sports medicine fellowship with Beacon Orthopedics and Bethesda Family Medicine in Cincinnati. As a long time sports enthusiast, Dr. Rankin knew that this fellowship would benefit him in his medical practice, helping him to offer a wider range of services for his patients. Dr. Rankin is a proud member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the American College of Sports Medicine.
Dr. Rankin joins PrimaryPlus as a board certified family practice physician with a certificate of additional qualification in sports medicine. He welcomes new patients of all age ranges and looks forward to serving PrimaryPlus’ mission of quality, advanced, affordable healthcare. PrimaryPlus also understands what a huge role sports play in this region and has ensured that time will be set aside for Dr. Rankin to see sports related injuries each week as well.
“It is great to be able to bring one of Bracken County’s own back to the region. We know that he will be welcomed with open arms from this community, just as they have welcomed our organization over the course of the last several months.” states Jerry Ugrin, CEO of PrimaryPlus.
